50-years ago.

Wow! That seems long-time ago.

Today is also my oldest’s 29th birthday.

I remember this day 50-years ago quite well. I was 14-years old.

Had been in the U.S. EXACTLY 7-months. That was my first time here.

Did NOT know who MLK was at the time or the significance.

Wow. How time has flown … but, then again, much has changed either!

Once again NO IMAGE of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

His image appeared in the Google Doodle 2012 – 2016
as well as in 2009, 2010 & 2006.

Not having his image is beginning to seem strange.

Doodle only appearing in the U.S.

Things to note:

>> Martin Luther King Jr. Day became a holiday as of 1986.

>> It was celebrated in all 50 States in 2000.

>> First Google Doodle was in 2003. It was rather PLAIN and showed NO image of THE MAN.

>> Nothing in 2004 & 2005.

>> Then yearly, for the last 11 years.

>> They called it “Dr.” Martin Luther King Day though “Dr.” was not in the official holiday title.
They finally got it right in 2014.

>> Dr. King only appeared, for the first time, in 2006. But was missing again till 2009.

>> Since 2011 his image has always been included.
