I checked again.

Logged onto my account at Anthem.com to see if I can print a Temporary ID Card. NO, I can’t. Still not working.

From what I gather Anthem as yet to get back to the the New Hampshire Insurance Department to explain why this is NOT working after they had led them to believe that it was — and that that is what New Hampshire consumers should be doing. Part of the reason I am checking, a few times a day, is for the Department. I have promised them that I will let them know as soon as I can print a Temporary Card. They want to know. They have been excellent.

Today is January 10, 2014. The supposed deadline by which we needed to have paid our premiums in order to have ACA healthcare coverage as of January 1, 2014. As far as I know there is no real deadline anymore! They are saying 5 day extension BUT we know that that too will have to be extended.

Well, Anthem has yet to charge my credit card for the payment I paid on December 27, 2013. That was EXACTLY 2 weeks ago, i.e., 14 days. I have heard that it is taking Anthem 17 days! This is crazy. It is so sad. Thanks to the NH Insurance Department I have stopped worrying about it. Plus I have a working member ID — as my Anthem.com account testifies.

I feel bad for those that are still struggling with Anthem — not just in NH, but around the country.

Amazes me that Anthem can so successfully GAG the media from talking about it.

I will, however, keep on plugging along.

Anthem, At Least In Ct., Extends ‘First Month’ Premium Payment Window To January 15, 2014. Print ‘Temporary ID Card’ Still Kaput.

Not sure whether this also applies to N.H.

I would think, maybe even hope, so … but from what I am seeing and hearing extending the window is NOT the issue.

The issue is with folks who, like I, have already paid BUT have yet to be processed — though in my case, luckily, I have a Member ID.

I checked again this morning, a few minutes ago,
to see whether the ‘Print Temporary ID Card’
functionality has been activated.

NO.
Still Kaput.

So, what is the story here with Anthem?

Is it incompetence or is it much more Machiavellian than that?

Unlike healtcare.gov these folks are supposedly a corporate, for PROFIT, entity who have been in this racket for a very long time. I remember having this very same HMO Plan, the ‘Matthew Thorton’, in 1987 when I worked for Wang!

I find it incomprehensible that they can be this inept.

I think that they are trying to undermine Obamacare.

I don’t know who is in charge of Anthem. But, whoever its, should be fired and as is the wont in corporate America be given a MASSIVE multi-million dollar bonus for their stupidity.

Now I need to go. Need some new tires.

Thanks to the sterling efforts of ‘Lisa C.’ of the New Hampshire I finally have an Anthem membership number — though they have yet to hit my credit card with either of the two (2) payments I have made, Dec. 27 & Jan. 3, and have e-mails from them confirming my payments.

Lisa and the Manager from Anthem, Robert Murr… II, both told me that I would be able to print a TEMPORARY ID card once I created an Anthem account and logged in.

NOT so.

I was able to set up an Anthem account, as I showed on the above posts. As I also said in that post the ‘Print Temporary ID Card’ function is DISABLED.

Lisa called me again today to make sure that I had managed to create an account.
Thank YOU, Lisa. You are AMAZING.

She did not realize that the ‘temp ID’ function was disabled. She asked me to send her a screenshot so that she can take it to Anthem.

I created this screenshot for her. She has already sent it to Anthem.

Much is happening behind the scenes!

I am getting many calls and letters. I am GLAD to see that folks in Concord are taking this very seriously.

I have had calls from the Governor’s Office. They took copious notes. Thank YOU.

Senator Jane Shaheen’s office has called multiple times and also e-mailed me.

I have had a number of letters, calls and e-mails from the N.H. Insurance Department. Also from the Attorney General.

I will, of course, keep you posted.

Thanks To N.H. Insurance Department I FINALLY Get An Anthem Membership Number. Amazing!

As you know I was NOT going to take Anthem’s rejection of me lying down.

On Friday, after I made my 2nd payment, I contacted as many people as I could think of and filed two formal complaints.

One of the folks I contacted, right off the bat, was the N.H. Insurance Department — Consumer Complaints. I left a message on Friday.

This morning, around 11:15, a lovely lady called ‘Lisa’ called. She assured me that I was NOT alone. She took all my information and said that she will see if she can get any ‘joy’ from her Anthem contact. She told me to be patient. She told me I was not alone. She understood. She was very sympathetic.

She called me back within 20 minutes!

Her opening words were:
“You are the LUCKY ONE!”

She had my Anthem Membership Number!

She told me how lucky we had been to get it. She told me that she had not been able to get numbers for other people.

The number she gave me WORKS.

I was able to create an Anthem online account with that number …

I also managed to get the screenshot shown above. That shows the same number, or at least the ‘numeric’ part of it, without the 3 leading letters I was also given.

There is a PRINT temporary ID card link BUT it is temporarily disabled!

But, I am so relieved. So happy. I now have coverage. This number is good. I can use it if I were to have the heart attack I am expecting anytime now — especially with all the stress I have undergone trying to get this damn insurance.

I called Anthem again on Saturday. On hold for 96 minutes!

Got a lovely lady named ‘Diana’. She was so, so helpful.

Unlike the Indian idiot I had the misfortune of getting on Friday, she found my records! She said that I was covered THOUGH they hadn’t processed my payments. Even said that they would either return one of the payments or use it as the premium for February.

When she fully appreciated my distress she put me on hold and went and saw a manager. His name is: Robert Murr… II. He works for Wellpoint and is a Member Services manager.

He too has been outstanding. He sent me a letter saying I am covered. He has sent me 4 e-mails. I am impressed.

I also got a call from Carol Shea-Porter’s Office. I had contacted them on Friday.

The gentleman that called me, very, very nice, told me that they had sent my information to their Anthem contact on Saturday.

I also got voice-mail from Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s office. They had also looked into it.

As did my friend, N.H. State Representative Lisa DiMartino.

I am lucky that I had so many good people rally around to help me.

THANK YOU, All.

IF you are having trouble with Anthem … you need to start calling. That is my advice.
