93-Year Old Queen, Elizabeth II, Teases American Tourists That Do Not Recognize Her (At Balmoral).

Yes, I will grant you that the Queen, when dressed like a rich commoner doesn’t exactly look like the Queen we see (and love) in the media.

But, this was at Balmoral Castle (the Queen’s holiday retreat) and she was KNOWN to be there — and here was an old lady being escorted by a burly, considerably younger man. That should have been a big clue.

The Queen does have a LOVELY sense of humor. WOW. 93-years old.

You have to read the story.

She was being truthful in that she personally had not met the Queen. That is true. She had also, truthfully, admitted that she owns a house close by — though Balmoral Castle is a far cry from a house.

She is quite the Lady. I worry about her … often. What will we do WITHOUT her and she is 93.

I can definitely see the Queen saying that. She is all CLASS and propriety. I also know that she is stoutly loyal and protective of her staff.

What kind of seems incongruous is that of the then 92-year old Queen quietly breezing into the kitchen. Yes, possible but I doubt that it is something she does routinely. Maybe she was checking up on Meghan.

I was not always a monarchists. It took me time to warm up this Queen and once I did there was no stopping I. I have come to realize and appreciate what a TREASURE she is and how lucky we are. My fondness and respect for MY Queen does not extend to all members of the Royal family. I still have a decent and long memory. Some of them were, and possibly still are, twerps. I can see Prince Philip being brusque with the staff. But, luckily, he is not our king.

Anywho, this made my day — if it is true. Wanted to share it with you.

A Very Happy 93rd Birthday To MY Queen, Elizabeth II — April 21, 2019 (Easter Sunday).

by Anura Guruge

Just a FEW days ago.

Today, April 21, is her ACTUAL birthday. She was born April 21, 1926.

That it is also Easter makes it doubly special.

She looks so great. Never tell she is 93.

Happy Birthday, Dear Queen. You are ONE of a KIND. We are SO LUCKY to have you. Proud as hell too.

Shame about the shameful news from Sri Lanka. Would have made her sad. She truly loves Sri Lanka. I know that.

On what was a gloomy day, both in terms of weather and news (yes, the flaccid Mueller report), this picture MADE MY DAY.

Aren’t we so lucky to have this Queen (and I will confess, with some embarrassment, that I was never a Royalist in my youth). And the U.S. has Trump. Smile.

The word that immediately came to mind was ‘resplendent’. I see that ‘radiant’ is what the media has opted. Either way she just looks GREAT.

Well, it is Maundy Thursday. This was at St. George’s Chapel, in Windsor — which I have visited a number of time.

Just wanted to share this with YOU, hoping that it might brighten up your day too. Enjoy.

MY Queen, Elizabeth II, Was Crowned This Day 64 Years Ago — June 2, 1953.

by Anura Guruge

The famous 1953 Coronation.

Elizabeth II,
Dei Gratia Britanniarum Regnorumque Suorum Ceterorum Regina,
Consortionis Populorum Princeps, Fidei Defensor

Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second,
by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith

I do not have to be remembered that she was crowned in June 1953. That was my year of birth. Also the year of the first known ascent of Mount Everest — just ahead of the coronation.

So she has been Queen all my life.

As I have said before I was NOT always a Monarchist. But, she has WON me over. She is special. Not sure what we will do when she is gone — which, alas, is going to happen at some point. But, not thinking of that today.

64-years.

Longest currently reigning monarch — and the ‘currently reigning’ is key.

At present only #42 in the list of longest reigning monarchs! #42. Wow. Record is 82! 82. Lot that reigned 70+ years. Impressive.

Today, April 21, 2017, Is Her Majesty The Queen’s Actual 91st Birthday — Happy Birthday MY Queen.

by Anura Guruge

A Very Happy Birthday
to MY Queen.

Today, April 21st, is her REAL, actual birthday.

However, this day, goes mainly uncelebrated and unremarked because she, like all her predecessors for the last 200+ years, has an OFFICIAL birthday. That is on June 10 — when we get all the traditional British pomp and ceremony.

91 today. That, by any standard, is one heck of an innings. I hope she is around for a few more years. It would be amazing if she can be a centenarian. Just think of the celebrations — worldwide. Not sure whether there has ever been a royal that was 100 years old. But, that is down the road.

Today, we commemorate and celebrate in our hearts.

Our Glorious Queen. The ONLY Queen I have ever known and she has been MY Queen, without interruption, since I was born.

I have NOT always been a Royal. During my ‘hippie-years’, well into my 20s, I was not a believer in the Monarchy. But, as I got older I, like so many, became to see the value and worth of the tradition. During the last 20 years (or more) I have come to ADMIRE her as a person for what she is and what she does for the World.

The U.S. has Donald. We have THE QUEEN.
