8.89cent/kWh Electric Rate In New Hampshire Till 2021 From “North American Power” — I Am Locked In.

I got THE letter in the mail today. So, it is official, I am locked in and there is nothing further I have to do.

I am happy. It was pretty painless and quick to RENEW with ‘North American Power‘. Yes, I had been with them, uninterrupted, for quite a few years. So, it was a straight, straightforward renewal.

I did the renewal, over the phone (since they do NOT permit it online), on August 29, 2019. Letter is dated August 30, 2019. So, that was pretty efficient.

It is actually LOWER than what I was paying for the last two-years, though the rate is for 14-months as opposed to 24-months. But, I can live with that.

I am getting a 8.89¢/kWh for 14-months starting October 2019.

Wow. It is actually LOWER than what I was paying for the last two-years, though the rate is for 14-months as opposed to 24-months. But, I can live with that.

They, as they promise, send me a renewal notice a couple of weeks ago. I had until mid-September to make a choice. I decided to get it done today.

Not sure why, but ‘North American Power‘ now insists that YOU have to call for everything. Kind of made me leery. They hadn’t quoted a renewal price and I was concerned that they would try to stick me with a much higher rate than what I was paying currently. I need not have worried.

I did a quick check on New Hampshire rates last night.

I liked the ‘North American Power’ 14-month 8.89¢/kWh. I was willing to stay with them if I could get it.

I called this morning. After the usual, tedious, verification process and having been put on hold for about 5-minutes, she quoted me that rate and apologized for it being just 14-months.

But, I was happy. 14-months takes me up the end of 2020. That was good enough.

I have now been with ‘North American Power‘ for over 4-years. So far, so good. No drama. They just seem to tick along. That is fine with I.

So, that is the story. I am getting a 8.89¢/kWh for 14-months starting October 2019.

“North American Power” 9.29cent/kWh Rate For 2-Years, In New Hampshire.

by Anura Guruge

The 8.59¢/kWh rate I was lucky enough to get in October 2016, i.e., a year ago, ALAS, came to an end.

9.29¢/kWh was the best that I could get, as of October 2017 — BUT I managed to get it for 2 years, i.e., until October 2019.

I think I am cool with that. That is exactly the rate I signed-up for in 2015. So, I am not a stranger to it. Obviously better than any of the other rates offered by North American Power. So that is good.

I did some research. I am happy with that rate (I think). {Smile}

My existing contract with ‘North American Power’ expires in a month.

I am currently paying 9.29¢/kWh.

The above are the current rates as of October 18, 2016.

I opted, online, for the 8.59¢/kWh rate. But they haven’t confirmed it, in writing, yet.

I hope I get it. I have been happy with “North American Power”.

Huge drop in rates from November 2015! WOW.

ENH was at 10.54¢/kWh on November 24, 2015.

I got a 9.29¢/kWh rate, for 10 months, that day from ‘North American Power’ and was happy with that. I have 2-months left on that contract. I hope rates are THIS low in September when I am looking. SMILE.

I have been, quite gainfully, with ‘North American Power‘ since April 2015. But the 8.99c rate I was getting was only guaranteed for 2015. I knew that.

Well a couple of days ago I got a renewal letter. I have till 1/9/2016 to make up my mind.

So I started looking around. ‘North American Power’, right now, has as their lowest rate, 9.29c/kWh. That is a 3% increase. I could live with that.

<< While writing this, given that I can multitask, I called up and SIGNED UP for the 9.29 rate for 10 months! That is one thing less off my list. >>

Here are the rates I found so far.

I can’t find the true rates for Eversore Energy. But they are bound to be high. So I am not even going to bother.

Had a letter in the mail, today, offering me this 8.99c/kWh rate for the remainder of 2015.

Well, what have I got to lose. In December, when their rate goes up I will just switch back to PSNH as I did in December 2014 from ENH when their rates went up 44%.

Just wanted to share this with YOU.

Yes, the Eversore/PSNH rate, right now, is indeed 10.56c/kWh. I double checked. So the NAP rate is lower — at least till December 2015.

So think about.

I have been using Alternate Suppliers for about 4 years now. You just have to stay on top of them.

OK? I will keep you posted.

All the best.

ENHlogoI had an unsolicited e-mail from Resident Power yesterday offering me ‘unbeatable’ rates. It actually made me quite angry. ‘They’ some how don’t seem to get it that they reneged on what was a 1-year contract. I don’t care about their ‘sob story’. We had a one year contract and one fine night, without any disclosure from them, I learn on the Web that they have ditched me.

Yes, I am mad. I am an avid promoter of alternate power for NH. PSNH needs competition. I was so happy when I first heard about ‘Resident Power’. But, they screwed me and gave a black eye to the whole NH alternate power initiative. It is the latter that really irks me.

I would NOT sign up with Resident Power even if they offered me FREE electricity.

I don’t give a hoot about their ‘unbeatable’ rate, because for all I know that rate could be history even before you switch over. They should do the decent thing and gracefully go away, and not sully the alternate power landscape with their tarnished presence. Yes, I am livid. I ended up paying FULL PSNH rates for 2 whole months.

Finally I am with ENH.

ENHrate

I am hoping that ENH does not screw me.

But since the Resident Power fiasco I have lost all trust and confidence in the entire alternate power industry.

I have yet to receive the insulting $9.50 check that Resident Power intends to offer those that they reneged upon. As I have said, I am going to send it back.

Typical NH — as the above article tries to point out. The ‘fat cats‘ always get away with it — imprudent business practices be damned.

Heads up. ‘Resident Power’ is trying to send us all a check for $9.50 as compensation, BUT if you cash that check you waiveany claims against PNE relating to the customer’s placement on default service”.

So, do NOT cash that check.

Send it back to them. Ideally write a friendly greeting on it and make sure you add some appropriate ‘perfume’ that reflects your amiability towards their noble gesture. $9.50. So generous. I guess I can see a class action suit brewing — which is funny because I said as much ‘day one’. They broke their contract with us.

Now they are back trying to rustle up more suckers. Well I would rather pay PSNH $1 more per KwH than deal with these reprobates again. They gave the whole industry a black eye through their imprudent business practices. This was so uncalled for.

As for the PUC … What can you say. Look at all the folks that got screwed by Scott Farah of Financial Resources Mortgage (FRM). Well at least he is now in jail.
