The Flowers I Met On My Walk Today — May 25, 2020.

These are NOT from our yard. These are the flowers I encountered today during my 4.7-mile walk in-and-around ‘Prospect Mountain Road‘. I know I am blessed. It is miserable in the winter BUT I persevere. And then I get rewarded with all of this. SMILE. Hope you also like flowers. SMILE.

“Organically Moo’ed” Food Truck Now In Alton, On Route 28.

Current Menu
— Liable To CHANGE At Short-Notice.

It was an unmitigated delight to see this cheery Food Truck pop-up on the corner of ‘our’ road & Route 28. Let me be precise, the corner of ‘Prospect Mountain Road‘ & Route 28, by the YMCA camp.

They have bought the large grey building on that corner. There used to be vehicles & truck bits in the parking lot — presumably for sale. I gather it used to a restaurant & bar way back. I have been here 13-years & the eatery business precedes I.

But, it has all changed for the good. Genevieve Michaud (from Barnstead) has bought the property & will open it up as a CAFE when the pandemic is ‘history’. That will be cool. To have a nice cafe at the end of our road — & I can already tell that it will be ‘nice’.

In the interim, Genevieve has a delightful Food Truck out there. This is all good. I am so pleased.

In marked contrast to the McDonald’s in Alton (as I pointed out (& they have ACKNOWLEDGED), the Food Truck is TOTALLY CONTACTLESS. I like that. That is how it should be.

The Food Truck (which will morph into the Cafe) is on one of my walking/running routes. So, I will be going by it, on foot, at least once a week. Will I stop & get a coffee? That is the question. That will disrupt my sacrosanct routine & discipline. Will she EVER be able to tempt me to have some of her ‘Apple Pie Bread Pudding‘? Yes, her name has ‘Eve‘ in it, BUT I know, for a fact, that I have better discipline than Adam! SMILE.

Well, now you know where the Food Truck is. You even have the menu. Contactless takeout. ALL GOOD.

I wish them all the best.

Taken at 6:24 PM (Eastern), on Saturday, January 6, 2018, the Epiphany, on Prospect Mountain Road, Alton, looking West.

The coldest day of 2018 — so far. The cold helps with the color.

Untouched.

a snowy blue night in Alton New Hampshire Anura Guruge Sony a6500

Just after 6pm, with it snowing hard, I went out, just in my sweats, to take some pictures. Noticed that the sky was blue down the road. Kind of suspected that it might be police. So, had to have a look. About 300 yards. Walked out, in my sweats. The dogs followed, off lead. It was a police car. They had blocked the road — Prospect Mountain Road. 6 vehicle pile up below. I only managed to get one ‘acceptable’ picture. With the heavy snow and light, it was not easy.

The blue police lights reflecting off the snow was COOL. As you can see. Teischan came out looking for the dogs, with their leashes. That is her, at the top, coming back — the dogs still off their leashes. We went back — again, once I put on a jacket and boots. Crazy night.

I liked the blue sky.

Taken in and around Alton. A few in our yard. Many on our road and Prospect Mountain Road (which is next door, so to speak). So, basically, close to home. A few further afield.

Not a one from our yard! All from ‘Prospect Mountain Road‘ — which, however, is not far from our yard. This is my main running route.

Topless In Every Way In New Hampshire — Saturday, May 28, 2016.

Today, the start of 2016 Memorial Day weekend, with the temperature in the 80s (from fairly early on), was indeed the day to go topless though I had started doing so at least a week ago (as some of you already know).

I did my run, up Prospect Mountain Road, topless — for the first time this year. That is always special. Hopefully I can continue to run topless, as is my wont, until late September or even maybe October. Two different ladies, in separate cars, nearly went off the road this morning when they saw me — this half naked kafir — running down the hill. I felt bad for them. They probably thought that the natives were back trying to regain their land. Luckily they managed to correct their steering.

It was a great day to go topless in every way. Devanee and I did a quick trip to Wolfeboro to pick up a battery for the XJ8 and get some libation. Topless in the XJS was a treat. So I couldn’t resist taking the topless theme further. Devanee, as she had done last week, took the pictures.

The Real Turkeys On Prospect Mountain Road, Alton, New Hampshire.

by Anura Guruge

As I have posted a number of times we have a LOT of turkey around here (and I am, honest, not referring to the Trump supporters). Yes, they get well fed around here which explains the preponderance. They don’t come into our yard as much as they used to because we have two dogs that love to play with them. These were taken around 2:30pm on Saturday, March 5, 2016.
