As far as I am concerned Amazfit blew it. They had a great chance 2-years ago with the ‘Verge’ but their software, both on the APP & on the watch, were beyond autocious. They have managed to improve a BIT BUT I still see that they have issues — major issues.
Thus, Amazfit has become a 3rd-world watch — extremely popular, due to its flashy looks & relatively low prices, in India, China etc. It is not going to make it big in the U.S.
The soon to be announced Samsung Watch 4 & the rumored Google Pixel watch will further elbow them out of the U.S. market. No great loss.
But, if the price gets down to $55, which it very well could do, with the availability of the Samsung Watch 4, then it might be worth considering. SMILE.
I am yet again thrilled & GRATEFUL to ‘Heart Rate Monitors USA‘ (HRM USA) for giving me the chance to try out the latest & greatest ‘Garmin‘, the new ‘Venu 2’ with an absolutely gorgeous, very bright (even at the lowest brightness level) AMOLED-display. I haven’t really had a chance to put it through its paces or check its accuracy, but it sure looks & feels spectacular. Nice, ultra-modern feel to it.
I think I am going to like it. Markedly different to the original ‘Venu’ & unlike the ‘Venu SQ’ this one does have a barometric altimeter so that it can count ‘floors climbed’.
I will start testing it in earnest as of tomorrow. I will, of course, keep you posted. That is what I do. SMILE.
I am thrilled & GRATEFUL to ‘Heart Rate Monitors USA‘ (HRM USA) for giving me the chance to try out the latest & greatest ‘Garmin‘, the ultraperformace ‘Enduro’ with an insanely long battery life.
It is an impressive watch, out-of-the-box — as you would expect from a $899, Titanium-bezel smartwatch. It is also BIG as you will be able to tell from the pictures. It is the same size as a Garmin Fenix 6X or 5X. I have never owned (or even tried out) a Fenix ‘X’. As you can see I have dainty wrists. But, I kind of LIKE the Enduro. It sure has presence.
Right now (i.e., today) — & for the next couple of days — I will be putting the Enduro through its paces SIDE-by-SIDE with my trusted Fenix 6 Pro Solar. I like to check & calibrate steps, heart rate, floors climbed etc. (Actually that is part of my self-created ‘brief’. I like to report back to HRM USA on smartwatch accuracy. They find the data useful to have.)
So far, so good.
Setting it up was a BREEZE. Garmin is getting slicker & slicker. Very smooth. Paired with my Android Google Pixel 5 in ‘seconds’. Good. Impressive. I am pleased.
I will, of course, keep you posted. That is what I do. SMILE.
‘HRM USA‘, the only place from which I get all my smartwatches, is noted for its everyday competitive prices, remarkable product return policies & exemplary customer service. Yes, I am a huge fan. SMILE.
They are also known for their generous holiday sales. This year, cognizant of the toll that COVID has taken on so many, they are trying even HARDER.
Yes, HRM USA is reacting & responding to Amazon’s “Prime Day” — which in reality, especially this year, is like a ‘Prime Month’. SMILE. As an Amazon shareholder (of longstanding) I am, however, not complaining. SMILE. HRM USA does sell on (& via) Amazon.
Click to access this post and read what I have said about the FitBit Versa 2.
I have raved about the Fitbit ‘Versa 2’ — more than once. Prior to the recent arrival of the Fitbit ‘Charge 4’, it was EASILY the BEST Fitbit ever. Now it has to share that title with the ‘Charge 4’ — but the ‘Charge 4’ is a BAND rather than a smartwatch per se.
So, I could say, Fitbit ‘Versa 2’ — Fitbit’s BEST smartwatch EVER.
$148.95 is quite the price. Good discount. Get one.
