I Had Not Heard That Garmin Had Been Embezzled To The Tune Of $1.2 Million!

Yikes. I had NOT heard of this and I, in addition to owning a fair amount of Garmin, am an actual Garmin shareholder (and I own a respectable amount of shares (enough to write multiple option contracts)). I only came across it when I was researching the new Actigraph partnership.

Garmin is a BILLION dollar company so this is not that huge, but it is significant. They probably have to sell 6,000 Garmin Fenix 5s to make a $1.2 million profit.

Rather embarrassing.

Just factor this in the next time you try to contact Garmin support.

As I predicted just 5 days ago the new revolutionary REFOCUS (at home) on Panasonic cameras, GX8, G7 & FZ300, is NOT good news for Lytro.

Others, Sony, Canon etc. will try to offer the same REFOCUS capability — assuming that Lytro or Panasonic does not have an enforceable patent on it. It could be that the technology is so ‘obvious’ that it could not be patented.

The last $100 DEAL that was required to get the price down to $399 at Amazon appears to have EXPIRED already. Not sure whether that was a ‘scam’ of sorts. But even $499 isn’t bad. My feeling is that the price will CONTINUE to go down!

I gave YOU a similar heads up last year. Click this image to access that post.

“Coveringnewhampshire.org” is a predatory wolf in sheep’s clothing.

They are but a front for the totally useless, rapacious, money-grabbing, ‘New Hampshire Health Plan’ — the OLD plan that those of us who had pre-existing conditions HAD to use before Obamacare.

PLEASE be wary of them. They are not an honest, ethical entity. They are out to exploit you whichever way they can. So PLEASE do not fall pray to their relentless, slick marketing and smooth talking.

Just a public announcement service to help YOU.

This arrived via e-mail this morning.

I am by force and nature suspicious of any and all e-mails of this nature. There are too many malicious scams about. So I will NOT click on anything unless I am about 1,200% certain that it is legit.

To begin with I always check the domain name of the sender. In this case it was: e.godaddy.com. That got me on guard. I actually checked e.godaddy.com and it does resolve to Godaddy.com, but that alone does not make me happy.

The “Get Started” button does go to e.godaddy.com — and I am NOT going to risk that.

Plus, I do NOT need anything fancy from GoDaddy — anymore. I now basically have very little with them. They did a wonderful job driving me away

IF you get an e-mail like the one above, possibly with different wording, WITH AN ATTACHMENT, do NOT — I repeat DO NOT — click on ANYTHING. Do not even look at the attachment. Make the sign of the cross with your fingers and back away.

Major scam. Citi knows about it. I called them. Your credit cards and accounts should be OK. Yes, the e-mail will contain VALID data. They probably got that from credit bureau.

This is sad, annoying and disturbing.

Oh. Please forward e-mail to abuse@chase.com

Got My 2014 – 2015 Flu Shot, Trivalent IIV From Novartis At The Alton, N.H., Hannaford Pharmacy By Senate Hopeful Richard Leonard.

>> — Oct. 15, 2013.

I got my flu shot, for this winter, on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the Hannaford Pharmacy. It was a spur of the moment decision, pretty typical of me. Yes, I was going to get a flu shot this year, as I had for the last 3 years, but I hadn’t really thought about when I would get it. Saturday afternoon around 3pm I was at Hannaford with Devanee. I just picked her up after she got back to school from a NH State cross-country meet. We needed some odds and ends. Our friend Richard Leonard, of ‘Miller Farms‘ and hopefully soon a NH Senator, was on duty. They, for a change, were not mobbed. I did need to talk to Richard. Plus we needed a couple of his “Elect Richard Leonard” signs for our yard to keep the Ray Howard signs company. While talking to Richard it occurred to me that I might as well get my flu shot and get it over with.

Richard, as ever, always trying to be helpful, was happy to oblige.norvatis11

For the 3rd time in a row I got my flu shot at Hannafords, in Alton — for the 2nd time Richard Leonard. It really was painless on all fronts.

The last two years I had to pay because I had the stupid, NH Health Plan. This year Anthem, to their credit, paid for it all. Zero cost to me. I am impressed. I have started to have a grudging respect for Anthem. I might even stay with them in 2015.

Getting ‘the shot’ is a BIG change of heart for me. Prior to 2011 I refused to get the shot and have the kids get it. But then in November 2010 I nearly died though much of that had to do with some cavalier treatment I got from Dartmouth-Hitchcock (Concord). [Ironically this afternoon I helped Deanna file a formal complaint about them, to the NH Board of Medicine, about them. I also JUST found that THOUGH they call themselves Dartmouth-Hitchcock they are not really that affiliated with the mothership in Lebanon! Some deception going on here. But that is another story, another post down the road.] I, at the urging of many, a few of them doctors, agreed to get the flu shot after that — plus i am getting up there.

As with last year what I was inoculated with was the Trivalent IIV vaccine. Today I went looking to see what it was all about. See below [click to ENLARGE. From the CDC.] Fingers crossed. Hope this post helps.
