Beaujolais Nouveau day. One of the few days in the year when you are likely to see a picture of I which is NOT a selfie — but, I will invariably be holding a glass (or drinking a glass) of Beaujolais Nouveau. So, I thought I should do a selfie without the glass of wine. This was at Market Basket, Rochester, before I got home with the bottles of wine.
We were back at the ‘Cinemagic‘ and taking ‘a selfie my way’ is de rigueur. I don’t think I have ever been to Cinemagic and left without taking a selfie. They have such great mirrors. Tailor made for my needs. I am sure I have taken more ‘selfies my way’ at Cinemagic than anywhere else. SMILE.
This was I just before dashing off to the wedding of my niece-in-law in Maine. Yes, that was our hotel room. What makes this selfie special for I is the suit. I haven’t been in a suit in nearly 4-years. Yes, I wore a blazer or jacket BUT not a full suit — let alone a 3-piece. For 30+ years of my life I lived in a suit at least 5-days a week — and most of them were 3-piece. Wearing a suit was the most natural thing for I. I used to own (smile) quite a few suits. During the time I lived in a suit, I would typically have between 7-10 at a time. I would never wear the same suit two-days running — and ideally not in the same week. I was always rack-size. Didn’t need bespoke suits. I could always get one from a rack — and worst case have the pant legs hemmed. Anywho … I had to buy this suit for the wedding. Got it from JC Penney. It was cheap. But it looks OK. SMILE.
It is an art museum. It would be churlish not to exploit the large, well lit mirrors they have. So yes, another new location for ‘selfies my way‘. Actually I hadn’t been to the ‘Farnsworth‘ in 12 or 13-years. We went up to Maine, a day early (for the wedding) just so I could visit the ‘Farnsworth’. I like the ‘Farnsworth’. It is small, but has a great collection. Very intimate.
A new location for ‘selfies my way‘. Went there for dinner last night — somebody’s birthday (but, no, not mine). Nice, big, well lit mirror. Couldn’t resist. Plus, I was wearing a tie. Haven’t taken a selfie with a tie in some time and didn’t want you all to think I had become a slob.
Well it always seems to happen when I am in Portsmouth. The top one was at ‘Cinemagic‘ when we were there for the ‘Downton Abbey‘ movie. I don’t think I have ever been to Cinemagic and left without taking a selfie. They have such great mirrors. Tailor made for my needs.
The second, later in the evening, was at this Japanese/Chinese restaurant we discovered. Everything about it was good. I will write about it later tonight.
Another supposed milestone come and gone. But, I really am NOT fussy about birthdays — given that I am adopted. So, can’t really be sure when I was actually born. Doesn’t matter. Not a major birthday, anyway. Last year I was eligible for Medicare. That was BIG. As far as I know there is nothing else I will get beyond that.
