‘On Becoming A God In Central Florida’ (2019) ShowTime Series — Funny, Engaging & Above All Educational.

I am beginning to find out that SHOWTIME’s forte is series & documentaries. They don’t have that much of a repertoire of movies — & very few recent hits.

But, their series & documentaries sure make up for that. Thanks to Roku I got a free preview of SHOWTIME & I have been binging on it as much as I can.

I started with ‘Billions‘. Loved it to begin with, but around the 30th episode it was just too, too much. There is only so much (of a good thing) that you can take.

Saw this. I was hooked by the title. I will watch anything that has ‘God’ in the title. Honest.

Wow. Very well produced.

Tremendous insights into pyramid marketing. WOW. I wish everybody involved in pyramid marketing will watch this series to see how they are being exploited. That was the educational part. Anybody thinking of joining a pyramid scheme should watch this series.

Funny & amusing too. Will have you in stitches. I definitely recommend it. You can see some of it on YouTube.

‘The Hummingbird Project’ (2018) ShowTime Movie — Quite The Story, But Alas Quite Specialized & Technical.

I found it thoroughly engrossing and compelling. But, in a way you can say that this was a movie made for I. That alone is scary and tells you much of what you probably want to know.

It is a semi-fictional story about creating a very fast network (basically just a fiber line) for high-frequency trading. So, two topics dear to my heart: high-speed networking & stock trading. This is why I said it was ‘specialized’ & ‘technical‘.

Just there is a LOT of human drama. Contrary to what they claim it is NOT a thriller.

I really enjoyed it, BUT I appreciate that it will not be everyone’s cup of tea. Check out the trailer.

Roku, to its credit, to help with those subject to the ‘stay-at-home‘, is offering 30-days of SHOWTIME for Free. So, I signed up — now I have no new cricket to watch. [Notice I have NOT (really) complained.]

Saw this. Yes, it looked predictable and yes, it is. But, it is fun. Funny in parts. Definitely uplifting.

I go through phases when I nearly convince myself that I am an opera buff. The opera in the soundtrack — obviously meticulously handpicked — is brilliant. I want to listen to opera again!

It is definitely watchable. It is NOT bad. Actually it is, really, pretty good.

Will make you SMILE. SMILE.

‘Big Eyes’, The 2014 Movie Is Definitely Worth Watching If You Haven’t Seen It — Interesting, True Story.

Watch the trailer on YouTube.

I was not familiar with this movie — given that I do not follow movie news or tends. Just tend to watch them on TV and occasionally at the cinema — and that, 100% of the time, is for the kids.

Big Eyes” caught my eyes when I was looking through all the ‘new’ movies available this weekend, on Cinemax & Showtime, as part of the DISH free, preview. I subscribe to HBO, so I don’t have to worry about catching movies available on that channel.

I DVRed “Big Eyes” (I think on Friday night) amongst a total of about 14 other movies and all 12 episodes of “Billions”.

“Big Eyes” is the only movie from this batch of recordings that we have watched — and by that I include Teischan (given that it was PG-13 (and we let Teischan watch PG-13s as long as she is with us)).

Good movie. True story. Amazing story. So 1950s and 1960s. Compelling. We liked it.

As of Tuesday, December 8, 2015, Amazon Prime started offering a slew of ‘premium’ TV channels on a monthly subscription fee basis.

As far as I can see all these TV channels, 25 in total, are being offered on a 1-month FREE ‘try-it-and-see’ subscription basis and Amazon, cutely, does NOT specify the monthly price for any …
