Yes, it is very true that I have, alas, not been HOME in a very long time but I find this hard to swallow. Contrary to any claim to the contrary, I can assure you that the Britain that I grew up and lived in was much more promiscuous than anything I have ever seen in the U.S. Prudish and Puritanical are words that I would only associate with the U.S. and never Britian. Yes, things could have changed dramatically since I have been away (and it can’t all be because I am no longer there) … but I still find that hard to accept.
Not sure when we might get to see ‘Versailles‘ in the U.S. on PBS. Probably never. I now do have access to live BBC (all 4 channels) on my Roku with the $1.99/month “UKTV” channel. I will have to check the times on BBC 2 and see if I can make a point of watching it. I will, of course, let you know.

Saw this channel in Saturday’s “Roku Guide” and, of course, had to subscribe — and at $1.99/month it is not exorbitant. Yes, it has all the channels listed above.
However, on a Roku, all you get is live streaming. So you have to watch BBC and ITV LIVE (though, in the case of ITV there is a ‘one hour back’ option (as indicated by the +1)). There is no DVR capability or ‘Catch-Up TV’ function to watch anything other than the live feeds. There is also no program guide or info to tell you what you happen to watching on a given UKTV feed. Yes, there is an online listing but that is not available on the Roku,
All that said, for $1.99/month, it is nice to know that you can have ALL the BBC and ITV channels on your Roku. Now if I can find a DVR that lets me RECORD UKTV off the Roku.
