Voting For Bernie Sanders In South Carolina: What Would Jesus Do?

by Anura Guruge

I hope that this is already been talked about and studied in U.S. seminaries. A great theological conundrum.

One could, and some do, portray Jesus as a socialist (and yes, there is that whole ‘money changers’ thing (which could be equated to railing against Wall Street). I am sure Jesus would agree with most of Bernie’s ambitious social agenda.

But, then comes the thorny issue. Would Jesus vote for a man who does NOT believe in him?

In theory he could. But I think that would be hard even for Jesus. That is why the ‘WWJD‘ question has to be fully thrashed out soon — before the South Carolina Primary on February 27, 2016. [The Republican Primary is a week earlier.]

So wait for this Jesus moment.

Today, Wednesday, February 10, 2016, the day after the
New Hampshire Primary,

Bernie Sanders’ is on Hillary Clinton’s coattails
— just 9 delegates behind,
per MSNBC.

Hillary = 45  Bernie = 36.
