How Many Diplomats Does The U.S. Have In Russia, IF Putin Can Expel 755?

by Anura Guruge

I am not sure about you, but I was flabbergasted when I read that Putin is threatening to expel 775 ‘diplomats’ out of Russia if the US goes ahead with its latest bill on sanctions.

IF Putin can expel 775 it has to mean that there are hundreds more that are not getting expelled since obviously he wants to maintain some US diplomatic presence in Russia.

775 just seems like a LOT when Obama only booted out 35 – 40 last December for their interference in the 2016 elections.

Big difference between 40 and 775.

For obvious security reasons it appears difficult to find numbers for the exact diplomatic presence in a given country. But, it is being claimed that there are around 1,250 U.S. diplomats and support staff in Russia. Wow. That seems like a lot. There is, as I show in the map above (which I created for you), one embassy and three consulates in Russia. Yes, it is possible that the Moscow embassy has 350-400 U.S. personnel, possibly more. That is without any local help they might hire as drivers, cleaners etc. though in the case of Russia there may be concerns about hiring any local help.

See July 31, 2017 UPDATE on numbers, on each side, here (click).

Just a sobering thought. 1,250 Americans, on government business, in Russia.

That begs the question as to how many Russian government employees are in the U.S. In addition to the Russian Embassy in D.C there are three consulates: in New York, San Francisco and Seattle.  So they mirror the U.S. set-up in Russia. Does this mean that there are ~1,250 Russian ‘diplomats’ in the U.S.? WOW.

I made two desperate phone calls to the Healthcare.gov Call Center yesterday.

I was so frustrated that I was nearly sobbing. I had been trying for 3 hours to get somewhere. Those were my 25th and 26th calls to the Call Center!

The first guy I got, and you could tell from his accent and the way he spoke that he was black (and wanted to flaunt it), was basically churlish. Told me upfront that he wasn’t sure whether he could help me. He was laughing. To him it was a JOKE. Since I had been on hold about 10 minutes to get through to him I didn’t want to hang up. So I perceived. Then he says: ‘Oh! I can’t help you. My password has expired. It will take me 30 minutes to get one‘ AND THEN HUNG UP! He is getting paid for all this, supposedly at $45/hour!

Something in my ‘political junkie mind’ told me that that guy, probably on drugs, sounded like an Acorn worker.

But, I still needed to get bloody insurance. So I called again. Another hold. This time a girl. I could hardly understand her — and I know that I, with my heavy accent, is really in no place to criticise. She probably felt the same way about understanding me.

She was also downright RUDE. By then I really was sobbing. I was so, so frustrated. It is a sad thing when bloody Obama can get a 60 year old man to CRY. The WORST decision I have ever made in my life was to support that man. I should have known.

She too, like the original guy, basically said that she wasn’t sure whether she could help me. But, unlike that jerk, she didn’t laugh.

She, to her credit, did do one thing for me — and for that I am thankful. She, by some miracle, deleted the two incomplete (because I couldn’t bloody complete them) online applications I had.

That allowed me to start again.

So, this morning I find ALL of this with but a single Google.

This is downright FRAUD as I have been saying all along. Obama shouldn’t just be impeached he should be sent to prison for this FRAUD.

As you can see IF you check out above post, I asked this very same question a year ago.

We have a lot of these accidents in Sri Lanka — even now. I think ditto in India. When I was about eight I was on a train in India that ran over a man. I didn’t feel anything and I am not sure if anybody did. But, the train came to a screeching halt in the middle of ‘nowhere’ in rural Southern India. There was a lot of commotion and shouting. It was quite frightening and disturbing to an eight year old. We finally heard that there was a man under the train and that they were trying to get him out.

I can even understand kids getting run over, BUT, for the world of me I cannot fathom how adults can get run over IF they have room [i.e., not trapped by platforms etc.] to get out of the way.

Trains are not whisper quiet — even on welded tracks. PLUS they make the track and ground vibrate well ahead of their approach. That is what gets me.

Like these two ‘poor’ BART workers. Didn’t they FEEL the train coming. OK, they could have thought it was coming from the other track — but wouldn’t you at least look up when you feel a train coming?

I really don’t get it.

Bothers me NO END.

This is stupid and spiteful.

NASA could have kept its public Website up
during the Government Shutdown.

This is yet another example of the petulant behavior by petty government officials akin to closing down the open-air, free-to-all WW II memorial in D.C.

Yes, I fully understand that they might not have the resources to keep the homepage of the NASA public Website updated — though I again iterate, the buggers are going to get back pay, so why aren’t they back at work?

This is beyond the pale.

The clown in charge of NASA and the one who ordered the Website to be taken down. He should be fired.

This is the clown in charge of NASA right now — Charles Bolden, and I do NOT see anything bold in his action. Just plain cowardice and bratishness. He should be ashamed of himself. He should be supporting the President. But, then again he seems to be way, way out of his depth. He should be fired along with the other scam-artist, Bryan Sivak, who is responsible for the crippled healthcare.gov JOKE.

Just last week, as reported here, NASA, yet again, screwed up, BIG TIME, and wasted $11 million dollars of taxpayer money trying to send up a simple weather balloon (BRRISON) to snap some pictures of my comet, Comet ISON, C/2012 S1 (ISON). They couldn’t get the telescope to unlatch. This was NOT rocket science. This was a helium weather balloon. $11 million. Wonder how many pockets got lined with that money. I could have successfully achieved that mission for under $800,000. But, then again, I am competent and have always been.

As we know NASA’s Website gets regularly hacked, because competence is not really a requirement to work at NASA. It was hacked just 3 weeks ago. Now we don’t even have a hacked site. Nothing. Deep empty space — probably just like the inside of Bolden’s balding head.

Given that I, on principle, abhor human suffering, of any sort, I was always in favor of the Government workers getting back pay — as was the case with the last shutdown 17 years ago.

I can’t imagine what it would be like not to get the back pay. It would devastate families. So, I am relieved and happy about the back pay, though as a political junkie I am well aware that neither the Senate or soon-to-be-impeached Obama has approved it. But, it will happen.

So, I yet again ask the most fundamental of question.

Given that they will receive BACK pay, why aren’t they BACK at work?

No work, no pay. I understand that too.

Back Pay, Back to work. That is the American way.

So what is the deal here?

This is such a farce. Plus, to my esteemed friends in the Tea Party — what are you saving now, other than your face and privates?

Back pay coupled with all the loss in productivity will cost the country more than if the Government was kept open.

The ONLY thing that deserved to be closed and it did that all on its own because of the fraud perpetrated by Obama brown noser Bryan Sivak was Healthcare.gov. That isn’t a joke. That system is a billion dollar FRAUD on the U.S. taxpayers.

I can tell YOU for a FACT that D.C. government workers who were furloughed on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, were being re-classified as ‘ESSENTIAL’ on Thursday, October 4, so that they can again start getting paid.

I have no problem, whatsoever, with that. I am glad. I do not want anybody to suffer because of rank stubbornness and stupidity of folks making $174,000 a year.

This whole shutdown is a farce.

The media, as ever, seems impotent when it comes to highlighting the facts. We heard that the furloughed government workers can claim UNEMPLOYMENT now — and pay it back IF they receive back pay.

I am more than happy for them to receive BACK PAY.

After yesterday’s inane car-ramming incident (by another deranged idiot) a crucial point came to light.

The Capitol Police ARE WORKING WITHOUT PAY — irrespective of back pay.

Kudos, THANK YOU and way to go.

Not so with many, many others. They are NOT working. They are staying at home.

While I understand that it is NOT their fault, why should they get back pay?

Who do they think they are … school superintendents in NH?

IF they like the Capitol Police go to work, irrespective of work, I will be DELIGHTED that they get back pay — even with a 5% bonus to pay for interest on money they would have had to borrow.

But, back pay if you don’t work.

What is this? U.S.A. or Italy?

All this said, I am still smiling. I am a political junkie. But, my politics are complicated. This shutdown does help further my agenda — though Obama is no longer a part of it. He is history. I am thinking 2014 and 2016.
